Philippa Greasley (MSc, MMedSci, CertMRCSLT, MASLTIP, RegHCPC)

NOW FULLY BOOKED

Unfortunately, from September 2023, I am fully booked for the foreseeable future. I can no longer take on new families. Please search the ASLTIP website (www.asltip.com) for an alternative independent therapist.

I provide a friendly, independent Speech and Language Therapy practice in North Oxfordshire. I cover the areas around Banbury, Brackley, Bicester, Shipston on Stour, and Chipping Norton.

I support families with children with a range of speech and language needs. I specialise in particular in working with children with Downs Syndrome, and children who are neurodivergent.

I am also able to offer  support directly to schools and nurseries. I can provide staff training on a range of topics related to speech and language. I can also be commissioned to provide direct time with children in a nursery or school, to assess their needs or work on an intervention plan.

Would you like to discuss your child with me? Please email me in the first instance and we can arrange a free initial telephone consultation about your child – philippa@pgspeechtherapy.co.uk.

Neurodiversity Affirming Speech Therapy

Myself and my small team of experienced Associate Therapists are allies and advocates for neurodivergent children and their families. We never recommend interventions based on the social-deficit theory of Autism. As neurodiversity-affirming therapists, we do not provide social skills training or any form of ABA therapy (such as PECS). These approaches are known to teach Autistic children to mask and perform a set of socially expected behaviours based on neurotypical norms. Instead, we seek to value and celebrate  different neurotypes and the range of communication styles that occur when children have different ways of experiencing the world.

We are one of just a few independent neurodiversity-affirming Speech and Language Therapy practices in the Midlands, with a focus on supporting Autistic children to be their authentic selves.

Speech and Language Therapy for Children with Downs Syndrome

I am a developing specialist in working with children with Down Syndrome. I aim to provide evidence-based and syndrome-specific Speech Therapy. I work with several Downs Syndrome charities and provide Speech Therapy for many families with children with Downs Syndrome across Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.

Philippa has been working with our daughter for the past 8 months. We have seen an improvement in her speech and overall behavior.Philippa is very professional, knowledgeable and caring. My daughter is always very excited when seeing her.I really appreciate the regular updates and feedback, and her constant communication with the school so the teachers can do similar exercises in class with her.I would highly recommend her.

Philippa began helping our 4yr old Grandson a few months ago after he was diagnosed with a communication and language disorder due to Autism. At all times she is an absolute professional, and is extremely caring and hugely knowledgeable. She easily bonded and formed a relationship with our grandson and he enjoys her visits to his nursery. Consequently we are now seeing massive improvements with his speech and communication. Philippa had been a great support to us during a tricky time. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to anyone!

Our 2 year old son has had 3 sessions with Philippa now and we are very happy indeed with the support and expertise she is giving our son and us as parents. Our son has speech, language and communication delays and will require support for many years to come. Philippa was highly recommended to us by other parents. We have found that her communication is excellent, from the initial approach and introduction to the regular immediate summaries we receive after each session with our son. We are also pleased that Philippa is very clear and helpful with us, as parents, as to what we can do to support our child in the time between lessons - we are primarily focusing on Jolly Phonics. It is also very helpful that Philipps knows our Speech & Language therapist within our District Council, so both can communicate and co-ordinate with each other over the support that our son receives. I can highly recommend Philippa.

Philippa worked with one of my children and was so lovely. She was very accessible and easy going, putting my son at his ease and getting him started with speech exercises that we work on independently. I would highly recommend!

The change in our little boy's speech since working with Philippa has been incredible! Philippa is very skilled at what she does and my son loves working with her. We feel very positive about his future now. We receive regular updates about his progress.
